My wife passed away last week and she was on disability through her work.I received a check for 1400 dollars from her disability administrator made out to her estate since there was no survivor benefit.Is it worth setting up an estate account for this money since it is the only thing that i'm not listed as survivor or beneficiary?

A friend is keeping his Last Will in his is office. When I asked why he didn't leave it wiith his lawyer he said he no longer deals with the lawyer who wrote the Will and doesn't know if another lawyer will keep it in his safe unless he makes a new one.
