My mom passed and i need to retrieve her belongings

I tried to retrieve my mothers belongings and her then boyfriend will not let me get her stuff do i have the right to her things? my mom died 5 10 11 and there is jewelery and a truck and other things. she was not married to him and he was accualy married to someone else at the time. please help me
