Making a student wait outside in winter with no shelter

Answered by Frank A. Natoli Esq. | New York, NY | View Lawyer Profile

Is it legal to make a child with chronic illnesses to walk 400ft and wait 10-15min in the winter without shelter and not inform the parent of the change. The School is aware of his illness and the transportation director took it upon himself to make the decision without talking to anyone. Is there anything I can do?

Do I need to lodge a report with the police and the Department of Motor Vehicles before submitting my case to the Small Claims Court? Would it be advisable to hire a legal expert to represent me or should I pursue on my own? Would appreciate your kind advice. Thank you. Sunny.
