Question

Asked 807 days ago by a user from Norcross, GA

A parking ticket turned into a warrant.

My boyfriend had a ticket that had turned into a warrant, he paid the warrant in new jersey and went to his court date, he was told he needed a public defender because he was unemployed and he told the courts he nolonger resided in new jersey, he had relocated to ohio. He was sent another court date and he was unable to attend due to his finacial situation. He explained that to them and they told him that he had to go in person. Well unfortunetly he was unable to attend. What can he do to resolve this issue without going to new jersey because he is still unemployed and is unable to handle this situation in person.

Glen Edward Ashman - Lawyer from East Point, GA

He is now a fugitive, and a simple traffic stop here could land him in jail while a court determines if they plan to get him (not likely but possible). At this point, he needs a lawyer there (get him one - it's imperative) and he may need to go there. See if the lawyer can settle it without an appearance.
