Question

Asked 399 days ago by a user from Beverly Hills, CA

I have a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and another nonprofit (but not tax exempt) has asked that my organization be a fiscal sponsor.

I am aware of the sponsorship models and my requirements to act as sponsor. However, I can't figure out if I need to file any kind of form or amendment to my 1023, with the IRS, indicating that I am planning to act as a fiscal sponsor. Is there such a requirement?

There may be tax and legal issues to consider here. Make sure that you consult with your accountant and with an attorney knowledgeable in the area of nonprofit law.
