I want to open a small claims case against a moving company. What type of lawyer should I look for?
I do not want to open a case on the moving company itself, but the third-party service that was in charge of handling my relocation. My new employer paid for the third-party service but my is in no way connected to it. I want to sue for furniture I had to throw away as the moving company did not arrive on time as promised. I also want to sue for gas and wear-and-tear on my car, as I was forced to drive to my relocation destination instead of fly because the movers did not arrive on time. I originally was going to have my car transported, but had to cancel everything. The relocation service not only denied my attempts to receive reimbursement for these damages but are threatening to impose cancellation fees which I would be responsible for (though they have not imposed any fees as of today). I'm not sure which category of law I should contact.
