What are a fathers rights in MA when the child is born out of wedlock & the mother of the child has put the child into foster care w/out fathers okay?

My daughter will be 4 months old on Thurs. My daughter's mother has kicked me out of the home and refused to let me back in, and refused to let me see my daughter. She claimed she was too angry to see me, the father of the child. She then told me I could go to the house Sat. to see my daughter. Although, thanks to facebook, I learned she had put my child into foster care, and that in the state of MA, she has the right to do so, even though I live in the same state, and want my daughter. All because we were not married? Doesn't make any sense to me that you have to be a husband to be a father. My name is on her Birth Certificate, isn't that enough? I am living a nightmare! What can I do?
