I have been asked to appear in court as a witness to a fall in the restaurant I work in. The lady is sueing the restaurant.and its going to civil trial. They have just notified me 2 days ago that I may have to be in court next tues- thurs. I have only been told this over phone and via e-mail. This seems obsurd to me as far as the short notification with such an important thing such as a court appearence. What legal obligations do I have to show up?

You must comply with any written subpoena. An email or call is not a correct way to get you to court.
