Asked 377 days ago by a user from Galveston, TX
I had a Doctor's bill that was paid in February.
Doctor turned account over to collection agency.
I informed agency and Doctor's office that bill had been paid. several times.
Agency kept calling. and calling. And calling.
Every time they were told same thing.
Agency turns it in to Experian on my credit report 10 days ago.
Agency clais that Doctor finally told them on May 1st that bill had indeed been paid.
Agency says that means it was not paid til May 1st, even though I have receipt from February.
Agency claims they cannot remove item from report til June 1st.........
And that they will still show it as a paid charge off as they claim it was not paid til May 1st since that is when they claim Doctor's office told them.
Is this true?
Do I have recourse?
