Ms. Edwards holds advanced degrees in law from Saint Louis University, where she also earned a certificate in Health Law, and she possesses a Masters in Public Health from Meharry Medical College and a Masters in Biology from Tennessee State University.  She possesses over ten (10) years experience providing healthcare law, policy and regulations advice to corporate executive management as well as to legislative bodies on Capitol Hill.  Specifically, Ms. Edwards has expertise providing counsel to several hospital and healthcare systems including the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Medicare Appeals Review Board of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).  Additionally, Ms. Edwards served in the Health Services Officer-COSTEP program for the US Public Health Service and she also worked on the US Senate Finance Committee, where she was responsible for providing high level research and analysis of pending healthcare tax and benefits legislation (Medicaid and Medicare), including HSAs,  ERISA-covered insurance plans, and small business health insurance proposals.Ms. Edwards has successfully counseled clients on matters arising under Medicare and Medicaid, Fraud and abuse claims, reimbursement and payment issues, compliance, and licensing issues.

As founder of the EDWARDS LEGAL GROUP, Christal E. Edwards will utilize her 10 years of very diverse background in both the legal field and the health care arena to better serve this community.  Following her clerkship with the Honorable Jimmie M. Edwards in the St. Louis Circuit Court, her career includes participating in numerous civil, criminal and appellate trials.  Ms. Edwards has represented clients on matters involving medical malpractice, contract dispute, labor and employment, social security disability claims, business formation, as well as various criminal charges including federal investigations, and white collar crime matters.  She is a litigator.
